Our Story
My name is Josh Abernathy. My wife, Erica, and I are the founders and brewers here at Three Sons Brewing. Three Sons Seltzer was founded in 2022 as a family business, named for our 3 sons, Brayden, Hudson and Grayson. (We also have a daughter, Abigail, but we decided that 3 sons and a daughter is too long to put on a label).
My wife is gluten-free and we were unable to find readily available, quality hard seltzer at most local breweries and tap rooms and usually no options available on-tap. We decided to open a brewery focused only on hard seltzer to provide quality, readily available hard seltzer to tap rooms, bars, other breweries and at events and festivals.
After embarking on the journey to become a hard seltzer brewery, we realized that there was also a void in the gluten free beer availability in the area, as well. After researching, we discovered that there were only 19 dedicated gluten free breweries in the country, with none in the southeast. This led us to expand our concept to include gluten free beers.
Many breweries add enzymes to break down the gluten in beer brewed with traditional, gluten-containing ingredients, and market them as gluten-reduced. These beers are not safe for any one with celiac disease. All of the ingredients sourced in our brewery are gluten free, eliminating the possibility of trace amounts of gluten remaining or any possibility of cross-contamination.
